2019-09-25General OutpatientDesignated Hospital:School Clinic. Students can visit school clinic with campus card, and reimburse 90% on medicine expenses (80% on physiotherapy). Students need to pay 10%-20% on their own.ReferralDisease that cannot be treated in school clinic will be referred to health insurance designated hospitals with referral letter from the doctors in school clinic. Medical expenses need to be paid by students first, then apply for reimbursement at the Public Health Office (Each referral is for one time visit only . Referral letter is need for return visit at the designated hospital. Reimbursement is 50% of medical expenses).Accidental InjuryFor the accidental injuries, students can visit any medical insurance designated hospitals in Guangzhou. Medical expenses need to be paid by students first, then apply for reimbursement at the Public Health Office. (Reimbursement from school is 50%; another 35%-50% is from insurance company.)Emergency illnessFor emergency illness, students can go to health insurance designated hospitals for treatment. Medical expenses need to be paid by students first, then apply for reimbursement at the Public Health Office. (Reimbursement is 50% of the medical expenses.)Emergency ObservationMedical expenses need to be paid by students first, then apply for reimbursement at Guangzhou Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau or Tianhe District Medical Insurance Bureau with related documents.HospitalizationStudents can be admitted to any health insurance designated hospitals in Guangzhou without referral. Medical expenses can be paid with medical insurance card, students need to paid the remaining balance first, then apply for student supplementary reimbursement at the Public Health Office with related documents.Access Health Service in Other Regions (exclude Overseas, Hong Kong and Taiwan)1. Due to emergency illness or accidental injuries, students who receive treatments at the emergency in other regions can apply for reimbursement at the Public Health Office (health insurance will cover the exceeding cost).2. In following situations, students need to apply for reimbursement for medical expenses occur in other regions at Guangzhou Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau or Tianhe District Medical Insurance Bureau:(1). Hospitalized or admitted to emergency observation in other regions during winter or summer vacation.(2). Admitted to public health care organization in the regions of their registered permanent residence during sick leaves.(3). Admitted to local public health care organization during internship in other regions.Remarks:1. Emergency illness is not as same as consulting at the emergency department. Emergency illnesses include: acute trauma, burn, acute abdominal pain, fever (over 38°C), sudden bleeding, hematemesis, signs of internal bleeding, hyperspasmia, coma, facial foreign body, acute eye pain, acute vision disorder, cyanosis, difficulty breathing, acute intoxication, accident, urinary retention, suspect of fulminat infectious diseases, acute allergy, and etc..2. Medical insurance designated Hospital: Medical expenses can be paid with medical insurance card when students are admitted to designated hospitals in Guangzhou.3. Reimbursement for total amount of medical expenses on general outpatient, emergency illness and accidental injuries cannot be exceeding 300 Yuan per month (For the same disease with treatments that continue into the next month, the reimbursement limit of medical expenses will be seen as one month limit). The exceeding balance of accidental injuries may be covered by student supplementary insurance.4. Related documents for reimbursement: Medical record (includes medical record of medical insurance), invoice, list of medical expenses (discharge summary, admission and discharge records, test results etc.), medical insurance card, campus card etc.5. Commercial claims:Outpatient and hospitalization for accidental injuries, hospitalization for illness (only for the disease occur after the admission to school)
2014-06-05What is Dengue Fever?Dengue fever, also known as breakbone fever, is a mosquito-bornetropical disease caused by the dengue virus. Symptoms include fever, headache, muscle and joint pains, and a characteristic skin rash that is similar to measles.What cause Dengue Fever?Mosquito is the main infectious vector of the disease.How to prevent Dengue Fever?1.Eliminate standing water sources.Empty buckets or pots containing still water. Cover drains. If the water cannot be drained, add some bleach to kill mosquito eggs. Avoid having aquatic plants. 2. Wear long sleeves and pants if you are outside during the day and evening hours.This is particularly important if you are traveling to moist areas like rivers, lakes, swamps, and marshes.3 Use an insect repellent.Use on any exposed skin, particularly during the early morning and evening hours when mosquitoes are most active. Spray aerosol outside and in well ventilated areas to avoid inhalation.4. Use a mosquito net.Hang a mosquito net over the bed while you are sleeping. Make sure the net covers the entire bed and there are no gaps in coverage.
